Qualified Staff

The Child Care Center maintains a ratio of adults to:

Infants (2 weeks to 12 months) of 1:3
Toddlers (12 months to 2 1/2 years) of 1:4
Children (2 1/2 years to school age) of 1:10
Children (Kindergarten to 12 years) of 1:16
All personnel have completed the training required for licensed daycare providers. The staff is under the supervision of a director. Children learn through play with others their age, under the experienced staff.

The Child Care Center is licensed for 7 infants, 9 toddlers and 38 children aged 2 /12 years old to 12 years.

The Child Care Center was founded to provide quality day care services for the children of the Parsons State Hospital employees. Since opening in 1989, enrollment has been expanded to include children from the community. The Center is overseen by a Board of Directors, composed of staff members, parents, community members and educators. It is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and approved by Social and Rehabilitation Services. The Child Care Center is committed to providing developmentally appropriate experiences in a nurturing, educational environment.
